Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 7 August 2026

In short: some links in TripSums are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to book, we may receive a commission from the travel provider. This does not increase the price you pay, and it does not change which options we show you.

1. Why we use affiliate links

TripSums is free to use. There is no charge for planning a trip, working out what it will cost, or generating an itinerary. We keep the service running through commission from travel partners rather than by charging you.

2. What an affiliate link is

When you tap a booking button — Compare flights, View train options, Find accommodation and so on — you are sent to a travel provider's own website. Some of those links carry a code identifying that you came from TripSums. If you then make a booking, the provider may pay us a commission.

The price you pay is set by the travel provider. Using our link does not add anything to it.

3. Which links are affiliate links

Any link that may earn us a commission is labelled where it appears. We also mark these links with the sponsored attribute so that search engines and screen readers can identify them.

Not every outbound link is an affiliate link. Where we link to an airline, a government travel-advice page or a reference source, there is no commercial relationship.

4. Categories we may earn from

CategoryWhat we link to
FlightsFlight comparison and booking sites
TrainsRail ticket retailers
Buses and coachesCoach ticket retailers
AccommodationHotel booking and comparison sites
eSIM and mobile dataTravel eSIM providers
Car hireCar rental comparison sites
Activities and attractionsTour and ticket marketplaces
Travel insuranceInsurance providers

Partners change over time. The list above describes the categories rather than naming every company, because we add and remove partners as coverage and terms change.

5. What commission does not affect

This matters more than the disclosure itself, so we want to be specific:

  • We do not rank or reorder travel options by how much commission they pay.
  • We do not hide a cheaper option because it earns us less.
  • Flight and transport prices shown in TripSums come from travel data providers, not from whoever pays us most.
  • Our AI is not instructed to steer you towards any particular partner.

If we ever cannot find a real price for something, we label it as an estimate rather than presenting a guess as a live fare.

6. What we share with partners

When you tap a booking link, we pass on only what the provider needs to run the search — typically the origin, destination, dates and number of travellers. We do not send your name, your account details, your saved trips, your notes, your conversation with the AI, or your precise location.

Once you are on the provider's website, their privacy policy applies. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data on our side.

7. Bookings are made with the provider, not with us

TripSums does not sell travel and does not take payment for it. Booking, payment, changes, cancellation and refunds are all handled by the travel provider under their own terms. If something goes wrong with a booking, the provider is the party to contact. See our Terms and Refund Policy.

8. Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you would like to know whether a specific link is an affiliate link, email support@tripsums.com and we will tell you.
